Prof. Dr. Christian Koller

Professor of Modern History

Christian Koller is Director of the Swiss Social Archives and Titular Professor of Modern History at the University of Zurich. He is Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, London, and Vice-President of the Association of Swiss Sports History. Christian's work and research cooperations have attracted large amounts of third-party funding, such as the 2009–2012 DFG-Network Integration and Disintegration: Social and Cultural History of Eastern European Sports in International Comparison project or the 2018-2020 GRS-Project Swiss Sports History Goes Public. He has also led various Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) projects; most recently, the 2018-2020 SNF-Agora Project Digital Swiss Sports History Portal. The interactive and multi-lingual platform encompasses the entire spectrum of sports history in Switzerland while setting thematic priorities in the areas of integration and exclusion, sport, and cultural heritage.
