Prof. Dr. iur. Gunhild Godenzi

Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law, Institute of Law,

Gunhild Godenzi was born in 1974 in Essen, Germany, and obtained a law degree from the University of Düsseldorf. She completed a LL.M. in economic criminal law at the University of Osnabrück and a legal clerkship in Cologne, including the EU lawyer patent. She earned her doctorate from the University of Zurich with a dissertation on "Private Evidence Procurement in Criminal Proceedings" and worked as an investigative officer for the Zug Cantonal Prosecutor's Office. Godenzi was an associate professor at the University of Zurich, where she completed her post-doctoral thesis on "Criminal Participation in the Criminal Collective." Since May 2015, she has been a lawyer and consultant at Tethong Blattner AG in Zurich and a professor of criminal law and criminal procedure law at the University of Zurich since September 2016.
